MoBlogs: Reflection of Virtual Tools
In class tonight, each student had to present a lesson over some form of virtual tool. Kate informed us on a Biology website, top20biology.com. The site shows different options to use such as content material or different ways to teach a topic. It has online books and flash cards that makes it easier for students to find information. It also breaks down the area content in the subject areas and gives practice exams! It was very informative and if I was a Biology teacher, I would use this website!

MoBlogs: LinkedIn
In tonight's class we created/produced a LinkedIn account. LinkedIn is a database that keeps track of all your jobs/experiences. I had already had an account so my task was to add to my profile and make it look more professional. LinkedIn is important because when you are applying for jobs, schools can look at your account and it will show them your past jobs and experiences. This is a great tool for future teachers to have and be able to showcase.

MoBlogs: Lesson Plan
In tonight's class, we have to plan a lesson over a tool that was discussed in our book. I have chosen Magna High as my tool. Magna High is a game site that incorporates math games. I use this tool in my classroom as a learning activity. There are many games that coordinate with lessons I discuss in class and give the students a chance to have a little fun with the material that we have covered. I will have a PowerPoint that explains the basic steps in using Magna High and how it can be useful in a math classroom. I will give a handout that shows some of the games and how you can use them in a classroom.

MoBlogs: Virtual Environments
I wasn't in class Monday night due to a basketball game but was given the assignment of creating my own lesson using a virtual environment. I used Blendspace to create a lesson about addition. I found that Blendspace was very easy to use and didn't take me long to create a lesson. I feel that this will be a very beneficial virtual environment for me to use in my future classroom.

MoBlogs

Hello class,
In today’s lesson, we will be discussing counting and using a tree diagram. The objective of this assignment is to be able to use a tree diagram. I’m assigning a reading that explains how to use a tree diagram. http://www.ck12.org/probability/Counting-Events/lesson/Counting-Events/?referrer=concept_details

After reading this assignment, you will then make your own tree diagram.

Assignment: Billy is trying to find an outfit for his class tomorrow. He has 3 shirts, 3 pants, and 4 shoes. How many possible combinations are there?

Tomorrow in class we will be playing a game called commit and toss. Each person will write their answer from the assignment last night on a piece of paper. You will then crumble up your paper and throw it in a box at the front of class. Each person will then come up to the box and pick a piece of paper. You will then look at the answer. There will be two sides of the room with signs, one with agree and the other with disagree. You will go to the side of the room in which you think is the right answer to your crumbled up paper that you picked out of the box. After this game, we will have a discussion about the assignment.

Have fun and see you tomorrow!
Ms. Janz
